Head of Infrastructure Investment, The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC)

Calvin Tan has more than 23 years investment and advisory experience across the infrastructure and related resources sectors, where he has acted in different roles - from financial advisor to equity investor to lender, in both developed and emerging markets. He is currently the Head of Infrastructure Investment at the HKMC where he leads the investment team on project finance and infrastructure lending globally. He’s also currently involved in developing the energy transition strategy for the infrastructure business of the HKMC and supporting its securitization activities.   

Previously, Calvin was an Investment Director at Eastspring Investments, where he co-led the buildout of various infrastructure investment strategies (debt, equity, fund) and was responsible for investment in the infrastructure sector. He also spent over seven years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, working on the Asian Infrastructure and Related Resources Opportunity Funds (AIRRO) fund. Prior to AIRRO, he held sell-side M&A advisory/ investment banking roles with JPMorgan, DBS and Aseambankers.  

Calvin obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated from Monash University with Honors in Accounting and Finance.  Calvin is a CFA charter holder and CPA (Aust.) holder, and also recently completed the "Leadership for Senior Executives" program at Harvard Business School. Fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia, he is from Malaysia and currently resides in Hong Kong.
